IDU Options Available

DUAL RADIO, 300+ Mbps, 18 T1/E1 Circuits (above) - The SDR Series™ In-Door Unit (IDU) shown includes a second RF modem and power supply to support a second Out-Door Unit (ODU). In addition, this IDU also has the 16 T1/E1 Expansion Module to provide for a total of 18 T1/E1 circuits. The Ethernet interface for this version is a GigE 1000/100/10BaseT, and includes an option slot to support one SFP Module for fiber. This version will support up to 311 Mbps of data passing between locations in a loop configuration (with drop & insert), or up to 611 Mbps of data bonding both associated radio ODUs, in a dual radio point-to-point configuration. All data rates are quoted each direction (full-duplex), and on small sized packets, may actually operate at 132% of listed throughput.

SINGLE RADIO, 100 Mbps + 100 Mbps, 16 T1/E1 Circuits, BASE MODEL (above) - The SDR Series™ In-Door Unit (IDU) shown has a single RF modem and power supply to support one Out-Door Unit (ODU). This IDU has the 16 T1/E1 circuits. The Ethernet interface for this version has two 100/10BaseT ports that can be configured together to share up to 100 Mbps, or can be partitioned to to each carry 100 Mbps in a 100+100 mode. There are some simple limitations that will apply if the 100+100 mode is used. This version will only support up to 155 Mbps of data (100 Mbps Ethernet limit) passing between locations in a loop configuration (with drop & insert), or up to 200 Mbps of data, using both associated Ethernet ports in a point-to-point configuration on a single radio ODU. The Base Model can also support the 16 T1/E1 Expansion Module, to provide a total of 32 T1/E1 circuits. All data rates are quoted each direction (full-duplex), and on small sized packets, may actually operate at 132% of listed throughput.

Other I/O Options

STM-1 - The SDR Series™ In-Door Unit (IDU) has a Mini-I/O Module to add a single STM-1 interface. This can be electrical using BNC connectors or SC optical interface using a laser at 1310nm. When the STM-1 option is ordered, an Enhanced Master I/O module is included. If STM-1 is added to an existing radio, the Enhanced Master I/O module will also be required.

SUPER PDH - There is a special T1/E1 ONLY version (no Ethernet) of the SDR Series™ radios that support 42 T1/E1 circuits. This SUPER PDH model is available by special order only.

Narrowband RF Modem - This special order option allows customers to order ODUs to operate on channels smaller than 10 MHz., such as 3.5 and 7.0 MHz channels in Europe. These ODUs have a maximum operating bandwidth of 30 Mhz. These ODUs cost several hundred dollars less than our standard wideband ODU. The factory does not maintain spares of this model.

Low-Power ODU - This special order option allows customers to order ODUs to operate at lower power levels than our standard wideband ODUs. The difference is approximately 3 to 6 dB, depending upon the band. These ODUs cost several hundred dollars less than our standard wideband ODU. The factory does not maintain spares of this model.

1000 Mbps Links - Multi-carrier configurations are available up to 1000 Mbps full-duplex throughput, with built-in fault tolerance for critical applications.
